You’ve thought about learning guitar for years. Maybe decades. You’ve watched the tutorials. Scrolled past the ads. Told yourself, “Someday.”
Here’s the truth most people never hear: you don’t need more time, natural talent, or to be 20 years old. You need a calmer way to learn, built for adults who want progress without pressure.
That’s exactly what Fun & Strum Guitar is designed to do.
Start with Module 1 completely free. No risk, no pressure.
If you enjoy it, you can continue with the Fun & Strum Guitar Course – Complete Beginner Program, which includes 5 modules total. Modules 2–5 build on the starter course and help you develop stronger chords, smoother rhythm, and the confidence to play more songs.
If you’ve tried to learn guitar before, you’re not alone.
A lot of people start with YouTube. One video says “start here”, the next sends you somewhere else, and before long it feels messy and hard to stick with.
Traditional lessons can feel the same way. They often move quickly, focus on exercises first, and don’t always match the pace adults prefer.
If the guitar ended up back in the corner, it doesn’t mean you failed. It usually just means the learning approach didn’t fit your life.
Fun & Strum Guitar – Free Starter Course is Module 1 of the complete Fun & Strum Guitar Course.
It’s designed to make guitar feel fun and easy, and to teach you exactly what you need to know to start enjoying the instrument.
You’ll learn practical foundations like:
No rush. No pressure. Just steady progress you can feel.

“I really enjoyed the class. I hadn’t picked up my guitar in quite some time, and Pat gave me the jumpstart I needed to begin practicing again. I had forgotten how relaxing and enjoyable playing can be. I’ll be heading back to Connecticut soon, but I just want to say thank you. This was a really fun experience.”

When I first came to Pat’s studio, I knew nothing about music technique, theory, any of it. He patiently taught me the basics and led me to a place where I could teach myself and learn nearly anything by ear. I’ve been in the music industry for about five years now, and I can say without a doubt I owe my career to his teachings and I’m immensely grateful for his continued friendship.

“Pat got me started playing guitar, something I’ve always wanted to do. This is a great class for beginners.”

“A great class for learning guitar. Pat is very patient with everyone. I really enjoyed the class. Even with some prior experience, it was a perfect refresher at a great pace.”

“If you’ve never played guitar before, this is a great way to start your guitar journey!”
Pat Thomas has been playing guitar for over 60 years — but his real passion is helping adults finally learn to play.
He started at age six, learning his first chord from his father, and grew up listening to the Grand Ole Opry on Saturday nights. After high school, Pat moved to New York City to study at the Guitar Study Center and performed in Greenwich Village folk clubs — some of the same stages as Bob Dylan.
He later formed The Pat Thomas Band and opened for artists like George Strait, John Prine and Fingers Taylor (Jimmy Buffett’s Harmonica player)
As the former Director of the Kentucky Arts Academy, Pat taught thousands of students and developed a teaching style specifically designed for adult beginners.
Today, he helps adults and seniors learn guitar in a relaxed, enjoyable way — both online and in person in Venice, Florida.
If you’ve ever said, “I wish I started years ago”, this is your sign to start now.
